Panasonic NN-GD371SBPQ

Our latest high end review features the exquisite Panasonic NN-GD371SBPQ is a sleek 23 litre 950w microwave, providing a powerful grill facility and finished in a luxury stainless steel exterior.  The intuitive control system is largely button based, and the spacious interior caters for all but the largest of containers. 6 separate power levels, and 3 grill options should cater for your needs - as a grill model, it doesn't feature a built in oven - essentially the NN-GD371SBPQ is a mid sized powerful 950w microwave aimed at those with a reasonably sized budget.

Panasonic NN-GD371SBPQ Review

Good build quality, looks great. Simple to operate, and maintenance is relatively easy too. Very solid to the touch, with a modern style that's built to last. Some models have an issue with the plastic film on the door, designed to prevent condensation. We didn't personally experience this, and have always had good services from Panasonic's after sales, so ultimately this wouldn't dissuade us from investing in this model.

Our Panasonic NN-GD371SBPQ Grill Microwave Review

Panasonic NN-GD371SBPQ

If you're after a grill microwave from a reliable brand, then it is worth having a look at the Panasonic NN-GD371SBPQ - a 23 litre stainless steel compact silver microwave.  The design is definitely on the modern side, and despite the fact that this particular model has been available for a few months, it hasn't dated in the same way other manufacturer's models have.  Some of our readers prefer traditional styling, and if this includes you then ultimately this may rule out the GD371SBPQ as a possible option - having said that, our test team were all independently in praise of the design, describing it as "classically modern" and "sleek yet stylish".

Inside it offers a 950w microwave oven facility, 13 different auto programs and a 1000w grill. The model we tested felt well built and looked good - we'd have no problems recommending it to our readers in terms of durability.

At 23 litres in terms of capacity, it's small enough to be compact, yet still spacious enough to fit the majority of plates and dishes we tried, with a 285mm turntable fitted inside. The only slight criticism we have is that we have heard of one or two reports of the plastic film located on the interior of the microwave door becoming damaged on some models - this has not affected the majority of customers, but it something worth bearing in mind.

Noise levels are very low, and the appliance is easy to use, as you'd expect from Panasonic.  The surfaces were easy to clean too, so it won't require much in the way of maintenance. The manual supplied is also pretty clear, and gives helpful instructions on operating the various functions.  Incidentally, the control system is similar to the rest of the Panasonic range, and as such is a joy to use.  An unfortunate number of microwaves use confusing, not very well thought out or simply extended sequences for operating simple tasks - this is not the case for the NN-GD371SBPQ which is both well labelled in contrasting colours, as well as being a pleasure to use.

Overall dimensions were 48.9cm by 27.9cm by 39.5cm - so bear this in mind if your kitchen is a touch on the small size - as with all purchases, we recommend measuring the available space prior to buying.

Our Verdict for the Panasonic NN-GD371SBPQ

A decent looking microwave manufactured by a reliable brand - in our test it performed well and we'd recommend taking a closer look if it falls within your budget.  It's perfect for those users who require a reliable grill microwave, and prefer a modern rather than traditional design.  The construction feels very solid, and is on par with the best models we've reviewed, and operating the oven is a piece of cake.  In short, the NN-GD371SBPQ is a solid investment for your kitchen, which will ultimately outlast the majority of other kitchen appliances you own.

As far as we’re aware, the vents are located around the back of the microwave – as a rough guide you should allow a minimum of a couple of inches space above the microwave to avoid overheating – this is dependent on how much use the microwave gets. If it’s only used occasionally for short periods you may be able to get away with slightly less clearance.

    Dear Sir/Madam,
If the plastic film on tmhe inside of the door does get damaged, can it be replaced and could I do it at home or would a engineer have to be called out.

    Thanking you,
